Recipe

Recipe for corn tortillas (enough for about 12 tortillas):

For the dough mixture: combine 1.5 cups of flour and 1 cup of warm water in a bowl and knead until smooth and well mixed add water if necessary.

Tortilla processing:

- Divide dough into 12 pieces and form balls. Then cover them with a damp cloth.

- Flatten the balls between top and bottom with heavy plates of plastic or metal (if necessary, search for tortilla press here in the store). The tortilla should be 12-14 inches in diameter.

- Heat a skillet (search for tortilla pan here in the store if necessary) over medium heat. Carefully release each tortilla from the pressers. Your tortilla will fry in the pan for about half a minute, flipping every 10 seconds, pack the finished tortillas from the pan directly together in a towel (search for tortilla heat retaining bag here in the store if necessary).

Either fill the tortillas later and fold over, roll up, or tear into pieces without filling and snack on the side.

Can be used for gorditas, sopes, arepas, popusas, corn cakes, atole, empanadas, huaraches and more.

Wir haben uns zum ersten Mal an "Original-Tortillas" herangewagt. Das dafür notwendige Masa Harina haben wir hier gleich gefunden. Bestellung und Bezahlung liefen super bequem. Der Produkt selber schmeckt wie ich es aus Texas kenne, leider ein MHD nur bis 03/2024. Gerade mal 3 Monate. Sieht so aus als wenn wir öfter Maistortillas essen müssen.

En Alemania solo hay amarillo. Es bueno, pero la costumbre no se pierde.

Meismehl ist Mais Mehl ist Maizmehl, da gibt es jetzt nicht soooo viele Unterschiede. Aber hier hat alles reibungslos geklappt und ddr Preis ist auch gut.
