Whole cinnamon sticks from Mexico are used to refine dishes, punch, desserts, and drinking chocolate. Mexgrocer imports the sticks and is a reliable partner when it comes to selection. The sticks can be ground and the resulting cinnamon powder can be used in hot chocolate from Abuelita or Mayordomo, for example – or on coffee with a milk foam crown, of course. The small cinnamon sticks (cinnamon is called canela in Mexico) can also be heated in Mexican ponche, giving the drink a warming note.
The spice is aromatic and offers the typical pure cinnamon flavor. Ground cinnamon can also be used in hot cakes, ice cream, or churros. Make sure to use a very fine grater.
