Morita chilies are dried and smoked jalapeño chilies and one of the most commonly used chipotle chili types. Chile Morita is usually smoked for only half as long as a regular chipotle chile, resulting in a softer and fruitier chile variety. The chilies are used to make a variety of salsas. Chipotle can be ground and combined with other spices to make a meat marinade - adobo. Chipotle is used, usually in powder form, as an ingredient in both homemade and commercial products, including some brands of barbecue sauce and hot sauce, as well as in some chilies and stews.
