How long does the shipping take?
Usually our products arrive within 2-3 business days.
In times of holidays or when we offer special promotions in demand, the delivery time may extend to 4-5 days. -
How long is the shelf life of the food as a rule?
Because we are constantly reordering, our foods may have different best before dates when they leave our warehouse.
Since most of the food is dry-storable (it's the same in Mexico), the food usually doesn't have short-term best-before dates either.
It is possible that the best before date for some foods is in the past. In this case, we mark the title of the product, for example, like this (best before day.month.year). This way you know that you are buying a product where the best before date has expired, but it is a product that usually has a longer shelf life.
We also recommend to read this article of the official consumer center. -
Where do the products come from?
Well over 90% of our products sold in the store have been produced directly in Mexico.
Some products, such as tortillas, meat or cheese, are made by Mexican, and in some cases other Latin American emigrant families in Germany or Europe, according to authentic recipes and production methods.
We are happy to source these products, supporting the rising Mexican small business landscape in Europe, which has been able to develop more and more since the 2010s thanks to great demand.
If you are a manufacturer of your own product, feel free to write us a message!
A few products can be found in our offer, which were not produced in Mexico, but are extremely popular in Mexico and are therefore also offered by us. -
Where can I find Mexican recipes?
Our goal is that you, even as a German-speaking customer with little experience in the preparation of Mexican recipes so far, are well advised when shopping. In addition to your own level of spiciness as an aid, we often offer small recipe suggestions on the product pages in the lower section.
You can also visit our Mexico Recipe & Culture Blog and find more detailed recipes and stories about Mexico.
Because sometimes food tastes even better in the presence of friends and family when you can share nice anecdotes about it. -
How do I know what medium hot is?
Our own MexicoMiAmor spiciness level. Scale you can find on almost all products.
This ranges from 0 chili peppers (no spiciness) to 3 chili peppers (very strong/high spiciness).
Of course, sharpness perception is always a very individual one, some people have a higher sharpness tolerance than others.
We recommend you, for products marked with 2-3 chili peppers, rather a step by step approach. Rather, drizzle just a little of the salsas on a small portion of your dishes at first and see if you can tolerate more.
